Michael Whittler

Michael starting playing golf at the age of 8. He was taught by his two uncles that both had and still carry single digit handicaps. He started his "teaching" carreer in Hawaii, at Mamala Bay Golf Course, under the direction of Thomas Stanfill and James Trujillio, at one time averaging 100 lessons a month.

After spending 13 years in Hawaii, he moved to Colorado Springs, where he was the Resident Teaching Professional at Springs Ranch Golf Club. After two years there, Michael moved to Boise Idaho, working at Warm Springs Golf Course as an instructor, until moving to the Washington DC area where he has been teaching under, Ron Johnston (PGA Head Professional) for the last 3yrs.

Michael utilizes video swing analyses with the Motion View system, burning CD's to help enhance the lesson and improve his student's experience. He has taught Jr's as young as 6 and students as "young" as 87. Michael gives individual as well as group lessons, and has taught Jr. Clinics and Adult Clinics throughout his extensive 20 years of teaching.

Alan J Burton

Alan has been a professional golfer since September 2005, and he has been a contracted Golf Instructor at The Courses at Andrews AFB since 2006. He began playing golf at age 30, is self-taught and turned professional one week after turning 50. Alan is a retired US Army Officer and had a successful career as a Trade Association Executive in Washington, DC before turning professional. He competes in PGA Champions Tour (Monday Qualifier) Tournaments, the Champions Tour's Annual National Qualifying Tournament (Tour "Q" School), USGA and Virginia and Maryland State Professional tournaments.

Alan places strong emphasis on the importance of pre-swing fundamentals - proper grip, aim, stance, balance, posture, alignment and ball position is the foundation and basis of any good golf swing. He feels that educating the golfer to better understand the cause and effect relationship that occurs with the golf swing will help you become a better player sooner. He believes there is no one particular way to swing a golf club, and he understands that communication between the student and the instructor is essential. Alan is a patient golf instructor and plans his golf lesson schedule to ensure every student has ample time to practice, for demonstrations and/or to discuss his swing/putting teaching techniques.
